I started in the industry when I was 15, and I love it!! I opened the Cape Town Hair Chair in 2008 before moving to the UK and opening in Haslemere in 2015. I have traveled across Europe attending training courses and hairdressing shows to keep up to date with current trends.
I have done many Tony and Guy, Vidal Sassoon, Hob ( cutting and colouring ) Courses. I am always doing up to date training of some sort or another in the salon and around London. Hairdressing is super exciting in that it constantly changes, there is always something new to do!
Have won, Western province hair dresser of the year twice, South African Hairdresser of the year, Joico Salon ideas for Europe and Africa. And several other Salon in-house competitions.
Wella South Africa, Sexy Hair Concepts.
I have been in the hairdressing industry for 40 years not only cutting and colouring but also managing and training staff for an international salon group in Cape Town. Judging competitions and doing photographic work.
I studied in London as an educator, and my main courses I have attended are at Vidal Sassoon academies in London and many more.
S.A. Redken avant-garde stylist of the year 1990
Platform artist for hair manufacturers
Stylist for fashion shows and events
Make-over stylist for fashion magazines
Before I became a dynamic and colourful hair stylist, I used to be a dynamic and colourful comedian, where I was passionate about making people happy, and after giving the stand-up a break to study hairdressing, my desire to make people happy hasn’t changed. But don’t worry I won’t make your hair style look like a joke, I aim to make you leave the salon with a smile!
I achieved my NVQ Level 3 in hairdressing with Vidal Sassoon Cutting and Colouring in London, and was awarded best colourist at the end of the year. I see a hair style as someone’s expression of their personality and each cut and colour is as unique as the person! I am striving to train hard, always keep up with the latest trends and keep trying to think of new ideas so that I can become the best I can be.
